FROM THE ARCTIC TO THE MEKONG… NEW INITIATIVES, NEW HOPE

Posted on 23 June 2021

Here’s a taster of some of our exciting new projects and partnerships from around the world…

We’ve helped develop a new tool to help Arctic communities and wildlife stay healthy and remain resilient to the region’s rapidly changing climate. ArcNet, a network of priority areas for conservation, is a unique way for governments, scientists, communities and industry to work together to protect the region’s vulnerable coastal and marine areas.

In the Mekong delta, the Dutch Fund for Climate & Development, which is managed by a consortium of financiers and NGOs including WWF, has approved an investment of EUR800,000 in an innovative sustainable shrimp and rice project. This aims to strengthen livelihoods, boost biodiversity and help tackle environmental issues, while providing returns to investors.

And finally, we are joining  with world-famous DJs Dimitri Vegas – our new Global Oceans Ambassador – and Like Mike – Global Forests Ambassador – to raise awareness about safeguarding oceans and forests.

Teamwork is key in all these brilliant initiatives – together, we can do so much more!
