Are you ready for the new year? We certainly are! And with so many opportunities to take positive action, we know 2022 will be a crucial year for the future of nature and people.
But before we look at the year ahead, we first want to thank all of our supporters and partners around the world for their incredible efforts over the last year. Despite the delays and disruptions due to the pandemic, we made real progress together in 2021. Climate and nature rose to the top of the global agenda like never before. And there were big commitments to tackle the climate and nature loss crises from individuals, businesses and governments.
Great news although we know there is much more to do.
2022: AN UNMISSABLE OPPORTUNITY
2022 could be a real game-changer. An unmissable opportunity to accelerate action for people and planet. Scaling up climate action, embracing nature-based solutions, greening financial systems, protecting more land and waters, adopting a new governance for the high seas, agreeing a Paris-style agreement for biodiversity, delivering a binding treaty on plastic pollution, and so much more.
The time is right for change. The science never clearer. The awareness that nature is essential to our well-being and survival never greater. A whole-of-society eco-wakening sweeping across the world.
Now it’s up to us to make it happen. We all have an opportunity to play a role in building a positive future for nature, climate and people. Together, let’s make 2022 a truly “Super Year”.
