WWF International statement on change of interim President

Posted on 02 June 2022

GLAND, Switzerland (2 June 2022):

The WWF International Board today confirmed a new interim President for WWF International while a search for a permanent candidate continues. A native of Ireland, who grew up in Zambia and spent much of his life in Africa, Neville Isdell has served in numerous leadership positions in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. As the previous Chair of WWF-US, he twice served on the WWF International Board and brings a devotion to conservation, a love of WWF, and a wealth of skills and experience with the WWF Network. Neville has stepped down from the board of WWF-US in order to devote his time fully to this new role.

This follows a decision by Dr Valentin von Massow, who was previously in the role, to step down from the International Board. The WWF International Board thanks him for his long and valued service. Dr von Massow continues to chair the national board of WWF-Germany.

In the meantime, a sub-committee of the Board is leading the international search for a President, in partnership with an external agency, and looks forward to announcing the appointment of the permanent President in due course.
